Simple, Tasty Marinara
1 28 oz. can petite diced tomatoes

2 6 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 TBS minced garlic
1 TBS each oregano, basil, and parsley
1 tsp thyme
1 TBS onion powder
2 tsp sugar (to cut the acidity of the tomatoes)
salt and pepper to taste
For a chunky marinara, leave as is. For a smoother sauce, run the diced tomatoes through a food processor first. Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan and heat to a simmer until heated through. It is even better the next day!
