Simple Boiled Shrimp

Fresh shrimp are sweet, light, and delicious. If they are fresh enough, they don't even need seasoning, cocktail sauce, or melted butter. I like mine with lemon and a few grains of sea salt.

Simple Boiled Shrimp

Fresh shrimp

Water
Sea salt
Lemon (opt.)

Add a few cups of water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Season the water with sea salt. When the water boils, add the shrimp. Let the boil no more than 2 minutes (unless they are very big). Then remove the pot from the heat and allow the shrimp to sit in the hot water for about 3 to 7 minutes, depending on size. The shrimp should turn opaque pink and white when they are done. Don't over cook them or they will get mushy. Sprinkle with some fresh lemon juice. Eat them hot or chill them for later.
